Senior Cost Accountant

Oxford Solutions is working with a manufacturing client seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to oversee cost and inventory accounting, support financial reporting, and provide actionable analysis to business leaders. This role will also help guide and develop a small accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Manage manufacturing cost accounting, including standard costs, variances, labor, overhead, and inventory valuation
• Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliations, reserves, and cycle-count reporting
• Prepare financial reports, month-end close entries, and supporting account reconciliations
• Analyze manufacturing performance, margins, costs, and operational trends
• Partner with operations and leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and business decisions
• Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with U.S. GAAP
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting
• Provide day-to-day guidance and development to a small team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong background in cost accounting, inventory accounting, or manufacturing accounting
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and manufacturing cost structures
• Experience working with ERP or MRP systems
• CPA designation preferred
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience is helpful
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
