Senior Cost Estimator (Aerospace Manufacturing)An Estimator is a professional who helps determine the cost of fabrication projects for a "build to print" job shop. They will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and purchasing team members to evaluate costs, labor hours, materials and processing relative to the customer drawings and specifications. They discover and report risks or potential delays while determining the cost, lead time and value of each job. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAnalyze drawings, specifications, and program/project requirements.Determining key variables for cost and all elements of fabricationGather first-hand information from history, the shop floor, purchasing and prior experience.Evaluate and investigate re-run jobs for time, material, and processing anomalies.Coordinate with sales team on quoting strategies and priorities.Obtain and review quotes from material vendors, subcontractors, and processors.Perform risk analysis with respect to capabilities and tolerances, and determine any deviations or clarifications needed.Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)Compile the data into an estimating worksheet and by using comparative analysis determine the sell price for the component or assembly.Complete the quote sheet and forward the data to sales or management for review.Mentor junior estimators and support supervisor duties as needed.All other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of the company's operationsQUALIFICATIONSProven experience as an estimator or a similar positionFamiliarity with financial and project management principlesComputer literate with emphasis on spreadsheets and MRP softwareKnowledge of research and data analysis methods and formulasOutstanding communication and negotiation skillsThoroughness and reliabilityExcellent organizational skillsAbility to work with schedules and deadlines.US citizen or persons required in order to comply with ITAR regulations, EDUCATION and EXPERIENCEEngineering and/or Estimating experience preferred5-7 years of experience in Estimating and/or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent) COMMUNICATION SKILLSAbility to read, write and speak English is required.Verbal and written communication skills required. Face to face, phone and digital (e-mail/text) interactions must be clear and concise. WORK SCHEDULE: Monday to Thursday 6am to 4:30, off Fridays.
