Overview:
Gallagher seeks a highly motivated, experienced, and results-oriented Senior Counsel, Contracts to join our in-house legal team.
How you'll make an impact:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a wide range of contracts, including client contracts, partnership agreements, consulting services agreements, marketing agreements, and other agreements arising out of Gallagher’s operations.
- Ensure that all agreements accurately reflect Gallagher’s business objectives and comply with all laws and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with Gallagher business leads, management, other Gallagher legal representatives on strategic initiatives affecting contracts and commercial issues.
- Provide ongoing and proactive strategic advice regarding contractual and business risks and counsel on contract interpretation and potential dispute issues.
- As pertaining to Gallagher contracts, identify and provide advice and counsel on a variety of legal matters that may arise, including IP, privacy (including data security, HIPAA and GDPR) and regulatory issues.
- Collaborate and work in a team environment with other Gallagher legal representatives in analyzing and implementing various projects, including improvements on data metrics and reporting and automation.
About you:
Required:
- Typically requires a Law Degree and minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience.
Highly Preferred:
- Must be a member in good standing of a US Bar
- Minimum of five (5) years of pertinent experience in contract drafting and negotiation at a law firm or in-house
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple complex contracting matters independently
- Skilled lawyer with strategic business acumen
- Self-directed, initiative-driven, and goal-oriented
- Excellent interpersonal skills, accustomed to working and engaging with a diverse team of people
- Strong communication skills to influence and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptional negotiation, organization, and communication skills
- Excellent drafting skills, including the ability to tailor contract language to address legal, business, operational and other related considerations
