This is a Senior Credit Officer opportunity at a growing global financial institution, serving as the primary credit approver for a portfolio heavily weighted toward sponsor-backed Project Finance transactions across Energy, Infrastructure, and Renewables a key strategic growth area for the business. RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as primary credit approver for sponsor-backed Project Finance transactions primarily syndicated deals across Energy, Infrastructure, and Renewables sectors, exercising individual delegated credit authority on the majority of transactions
  • Approve transactions and customer group risk appetite within delegated authority;support escalation of exposures to higher authority where required
  • Conduct prudent and rigorous credit risk assessment and ongoing management of the institutional project finance portfolio, including early recognition of problem credits and implementation of remediation plans
  • Contribute to the strategic positioning and credit policy development of the institution to ensure alignment with business unit objectives and risk appetite
  • Work closely with business development teams to optimize risk utilization and maximize return within defined risk appetite parameters
  • Collaborate with Financial Markets and trading teams to ensure trading activity remains within approved limits;refer to appropriate authority as needed
  • Contribute to internal governance reporting and forums;provide leave coverage for European credit officer responsibilities as required
  • Ensure all policies and procedures meet local regulatory expectations including OCC requirements;engage with external regulators as necessary
  • Drive and maintain a strong risk culture with continuous focus on strengthening the control environment and credit culture across the business
  • Stay current on regulatory developments impacting the project finance and institutional credit space
