The Senior Credit Specialist will leverage strong agricultural industry knowledge, along with a proven background in credit and collections, to minimize bad debt and write-offs while supporting healthy, sustainable customer relationships. This role partners closely with sales staff and patrons to protect company assets while enabling growth. The Specialist will evaluate and process credit applications, make sound and timely credit decisions, and apply consistent credit practices across the organization. While familiarity with all Keystone business units is essential, this role will serve as a subject matter expert for the agronomy and feed segments.
Areas of Accountability:
Enforcement of the Keystone Credit Policy
General account setup and maintenance
Collection activities within approved levels of authority designated by management
Bad debt expense
Aging accounts receivables for designated business unit or locations
Successful and productive working relationships with team members
Duties and Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to:
Maintain ongoing contact with past due patrons as well as with sales staff to ensure timely payments are received and additional charges are not accrued without management approval.
Work with our internal sales and location staff to assist with credit functions.
Responsible to train other team members on standard processes for the credit department.
Manage credit holds within the accounting software.
Will be responsible for enforcing the Keystone credit policy as adopted by the Board of Directors.
Maintain design and distribution of standard weekly or monthly business unit reports.
Coordinate all collection efforts and resolve disputes in a professional manner.
Provide reports to management that the team has deemed essential to business units of Keystone.
Support functions for other Credit team members, Finance Specialists, and Directors.
Other tasks may be assigned to assist in reaching the goals of the company and that align with the strengths of the Senior Credit Specialist.
Skills and Qualifications:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret managerial reports and credit reports.
Ability to communicate effectively - both oral and written.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Must be organized and detail oriented.
Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively over the phone.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from accredited learning institute preferred.
3-5 years relevant business experience
