Job Description

Act as the primary internal coordinator for Missouri S&T's GIS implementation and ongoing system integration, working closely with a third-party vendor

Oversee vendor performance to ensure adherence not only to initial project deliverables but also to long-term service standards and operational sustainability

Validate the accuracy, organization, and structure of campus utility data entered into the GIS

Perform ongoing updates and edits to utility data within the GIS based on construction documents, field changes, and campus improvements

Interpret and convert utility as-builts, CAD drawings, and field notes into accurate GIS layers

Develop internal policies, procedures, and workflows for maintaining GIS utility data

Coordinate regular updates to GIS data based on changes from new construction, renovations, or utility modifications

Manage and respond to utility locate requests and support construction and maintenance activities with GIS data

Support facilities teams in the field with mobile GIS applications, including iPad-based access and troubleshooting

Provide training and technical support to internal users on accessing and using GIS applications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 4 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

At least 3 years of experience working with GIS systems and spatial data, including Esri products

Experience performing GIS data edits and maintenance, including working with CAD-based construction drawings

Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,916-$74,485 annually. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck. The University of Missouri provides generous leave, health plans, and retirement contributions that add to your bottom line.
