Description:
Senior Custodian
Qualifications:
High-school diploma or equivalent
Experience in custodial or facilities work preferred
Ability to perform basic cleaning and minor maintenance tasks
Ability to lead, develop and direct custodial staff
Ability to prioritize work and stay organized
Ability to communicate clearly with staff and administration
Ability to use email and the work order system to receive, update, and complete assigned work
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Core Responsibilities:
a. Monitor building systems and report issues through work order system
b. Perform basic maintenance tasks (lights, filters, and minor fixes defined as quick, low- risk tasks that can be completed in under 30 minutes, without specialized training or permits)
c. Complete assigned work orders, provide updates, and close out tasks in the system
a. Maintain consistent cleaning standards across all areas
b. Ensure public-facing spaces are clean, presentable, and welcoming
c. Support events with efficient setup and teardown
a. Direct the daily work of custodial staff assigned to the high school and provide guidance to custodial staff district-wide as needed.
b. Serve as the primary point of contact for custodial operations during the Director of Facilities' absence.
c. Assist the Director of Facilities with onboarding and training new custodial employees.
a. Maintain entrances, sidewalks, and immediate exterior areas
b. Support seasonal needs (snow and ice removal, basic upkeep, etc)
a. Submit and track work orders
b. Manage supplies and inventory
c. Communicate building needs to Director of Facilities
a. Provide support at other district facilities as needed
b. Adjust schedule or location based on district priorities
a. Perform all other duties as assigned to support district operations and priorities
a. Serve as the primary point of contact for custodial staff during the Director of Facilities' absence.
b. Assist with training new custodial employees and provide guidance and support to custodial staff as needed.
c. Assist the Director of Facilities with district-wide custodial coordination, special projects, supply management and building inspections.
Terms of employment: 260 days (twelve months)
Job Summary:
Hours 5:30 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.

Salary:
Based on NBESS Contract. Minimum starting pay $24.50 per hour (varies with years of experience)
Qualifications:
Cleaning skills required. Electrical & mechanical ability desired.
