About the position:

Healthcare data is notoriously high-variance and fragmented, but we don't just report on it-we make it actionable. We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst who pairs deep technical mastery with the analytical skepticism required to find the truth in complex datasets. In this role, you will serve as a strategic architect of our Value-Based Care and medical economics frameworks. You'll be tasked with the unique challenge of leveraging our access to massive payer data sets and marrying them with Stellar's real-time application data to build high-integrity models that show our partners exactly where the opportunities for clinical impact live.

What you'll do:

• Synthesize Complex Datasets: Bridge the gap between massive, longitudinal payer data sets and granular Stellar application data. You won't just report numbers; you'll build the models that define how we measure clinical impact and medical group performance. • Engineer High-Impact BI & ETL: Design and maintain sophisticated data products. This involves optimizing modular SQL-based workflows and building intuitive, enterprise-grade dashboards in Tableau and Looker that allow stakeholders to self-serve with confidence. • Apply Analytical & Statistical Rigor: Serve as the sniff test for the organization. You will ensure our reporting accounts for n-size volatility and population shifts, identifying the real signal within the noise of healthcare claims and operations data. • Translate Insights into Strategy: Convert complex analytical findings into compelling business stories. You'll partner with leaders in Operations, Finance, and Sales to turn data into strategic shifts-not just incremental improvements. • Build Scalable Data Assets: Collaborate with Product Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers to harden our data infrastructure. You will identify and automate customer-specific logic (like inclusions/exclusions) to eliminate manual tribal knowledge and ensure data reliability at scale. • Mentor and Elevate: Actively raise the technical bar for the analytics team. You'll share best practices in methodology and technical execution, fostering a culture of high-integrity analysis and shared knowledge.

As a Senior Data Analyst you should have:

• Quantitative Foundation: A Bachelors degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics) or equivalent practical experience. • Deep Domain Expertise: 6-9 years of experience in data analytics, with a significant portion dedicated to Healthcare Economics, Value-Based Care, or Claims Analysis. You should be an expert in the nuances of risk adjustment, quality metrics, or PMPM trends. • SQL Mastery: Advanced proficiency in SQL. You should be an expert in writing modular, high-performance code, utilizing window functions, CTEs, and complex joins to transform messy raw data into clean analytical sets. • Tool Agility: Familiarity operating within the modern BI and ETL landscape generally, with specific expertise in leveraging modern analytics tools (such as Tableau, Looker, dbt, or Snowflake) to accelerate and deepen your analysis. • Analytical & Statistical Rigor: A proven ability to apply statistical logic to business problems. • Strategic Communication: The ability to move beyond what happened to why it matters. You can translate a complex statistical finding into a clear, strategic recommendation for executive leadership.

Who will love this job:

You'll thrive here if you are a proactive investigator who enjoys the challenge of finding the signal in the noise healthcare datasets. You are passionate about building automated, structural solutions and want to see your analytical rigor directly drive the strategic North Star of the company.

Pay:

The salary range for this role is $155,000 - $195,000 + an annual performance-based bonus. Where a new hire falls within this range will be based on their individual skills and experience, and how these competencies compare across other employees in the same role. Stellars bands are designed to allow for individual compensation growth within the role. As such, new hires typically start at the lower end of the range.
