Job Profile Summary:

This job is responsible for ensuring operational data is fit for purpose, defining controls, and monitoring processes are in adherence to enterprise data management standards. Key responsibilities include triaging and remediating data incidents, performing data analysis, training new users, and performing impact analysis stemming from data updates. Job expectations include helping in defining access and ownership of data by domain, conducting quality control, and overseeing data maintenance.

The Securities Reference Data Team provides subject matter expertise on information that is joined to product transactional data, such as customer / counterparty, product attributes, and ledger data. The team acts as a bridge between technical data teams and business functions to expand and improve reporting, forecasting, and analytics. This role is responsible for securities and book reference data namely various Security IDs such as ISIN and CUSIP, Security Descriptions, Security Classifications such as High Quality Liquid Assets and Collateral Class, Issuer/Guarantor data, Coupon Rates, Country info, Index/Exchange Listing info, Issue date/Maturity date, etc. Works under minimal supervision on enterprise-wide projects requiring creative data solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensures data is accurate, complete, and fit for performing data analyses through various testing procedures and data controls which help to identify business insights fit for purpose for a particular product set

  • Develops and executes on Enterprise Data Management policies and standards, works across teams to ensure adherence, serves as a key point of contact for all topics related to data compliance, and manages operational elements of the (Enterprise Data Strategy Governance and Operations (EDSGO) relationship

  • Manages data related incidents and identifies, communicates, and resolves or escalates issues as needed. Data inquiries include questions related to data issues, availability of data, and potential sourcing alternatives to inform

  • Develops, manages, and executes on controls, ensuring tracking, monitoring, and resolution of any control breaches with data platform

  • Partners with Business and Technology functions to drive the development of business and functional requirements documents and ensures strategic upstream resolution for data related incidents

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Subject Matter Expertise – develop and leverage knowledge of securities, book data, Bloomberg and SQL to support CFO DM & Line of business data needs

  • Relationship Management – build and maintain relationships, including across Lines of business, technology, project management, and risk/compliance/audit; work closely as a liaison between developer/software engineering teams and Line of Business users

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in accounting/finance/business or related fields

  • Data management/analysis, database, and/or securities product expertise within the financial industry (preferred)

  • Business acumen; ability to bridge business and technical topics

  • Strong partnering and communication abilities

  • Able to self-direct/prioritize tasks, detailed-oriented, organized, self-initiated

  • Curious and independent thinker with a continuous improvement mindset

  • Ability to understand waterfall dataflows/logic, set theory, and other related dataflows helpful

  • Proficient with Bloomberg, SQL, and Excel (Preferred)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bank of America and Finance or Middle Office experience

  • Familiarity with securities & book data and Bank of America platforms (PME, Bookmap)
