Job Summary/Overall Objectives
The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer designs, develops, and troubleshoots business, clinical, and population management databases and analytic tools. They demonstrate an expert understanding of designing and maintaining data models. By using various data extraction methods across multiple data sources, the Senior Engineer will be responsible for compiling application-ready data models for analytic deliveries.
Essential Job Functions
Develops the standard to maintain the enterprise data strategy for the analytics team.
Investigates data quality and integrity issues and derives solutions to ensure accuracy and consistency across the organization.
Designs, creates, tests, and deploys data pipelines (ETL, ELT, streaming) and data models.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
Builds and maintains the data infrastructure that powers business intelligence tools.
Develops and maintains data integrations with on-premises and cloud-hosted technologies such as APIs and ODBC connections.
Ensures data observability, availability, and scalability for analytic solutions.
Minimizes data downtimes.
Maintains working knowledge of source system databases.
Implements data security and access management protocols for safeguard storage and analytic assets.
Actively participates in data governance standards.
Other duties as assigned.
Competency and Experience
Required Qualifications/Experience
Bachelor's Degree or higher level of education in Data Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Healthcare Management or Business.
Four (4) - six (6) years of experience in data analysis, data visualization, reporting or analytics.
Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability data analytics.
Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience
Master's Degree in Data Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Healthcare Management or Business preferred.
Six (6+) years' experience in data aggregation or reporting setting.
Experience in Healthcare setting.
License, Certification & Clearances
Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
Travel may be expected locally between System locations.
