Pay:$83.00 - $93.00/hr; W2 contract, no PTO, no Benefits. ACA-compliant supplemental package available for enrollment. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must be able to sit on Primary Talent Partners W2 without sponsorship.

Description:
The Senior Data Engineer will play a critical role in ProCODE's transformation of enterprise reporting and analytics through Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. This position is responsible for designing, building, and governing modern data platforms that enable trusted operational insights, analytics, AI readiness, and enterprise-scale reporting.
The ideal candidate combines deep data engineering expertise with hands-on experience in Microsoft Fabric, Power BI semantic modeling, data architecture, and enterprise governance. This role will lead migration efforts from legacy reporting platforms, establish scalable Fabric design patterns, and partner with business and technology stakeholders to deliver certified, governed, and high-performing analytical solutions.
Role:
Microsoft Fabric & Power BI Modernization
- Migration of operational reporting assets and datasets to Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
- Implement Fabric architectures including Lakehouses, Warehouses, Semantic Models, Data Pipelines, and OneLake strategies.
- Build reusable engineering patterns that accelerate dashboard migration and reduce delivery effort.
- Develop enterprise-scale Power BI datasets supporting operational, executive, and strategic reporting.
- Optimize Fabric capacity utilization, storage strategy, performance, and cost management.
Data Engineering
- Build and maintain scalable data ingestion and transformation pipelines from enterprise platforms and operational systems.
- Design and implement medallion architecture patterns (Bronze, Silver, Gold) within Fabric.
- Develop data integration solutions utilizing Fabric Data Factory, notebooks, Spark, SQL, APIs, and related technologies.
- Ensure data quality, reliability, availability, and observability throughout the data lifecycle.
- Support modernization of existing ETL and reporting solutions into cloud-native architectures.
Analytics Enablement
- Partner with Power BI developers, business analysts, and product stakeholders to define analytical requirements.
- Design scalable semantic models that support both operational reporting and advanced analytics use cases.
- Improve performance, usability, and adoption of enterprise reporting assets.
- Participate in architecture reviews and provide technical leadership for reporting modernization initiatives.
All About you:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or business intelligence development.
- 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Power BI including semantic modeling, DAX, data modeling, and report optimization.
- Experience designing and operating enterprise data platforms in Microsoft Fabric, Azure, or comparable cloud ecosystems.
- Strong SQL development and data modeling expertise.
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines and integrating data from multiple enterprise systems.
- Knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric components including:
- OneLake
- Data Factory
- Lakehouse
- Data Warehouse
- Spark Notebooks
- Real-Time Intelligence
- Data Agents
- Experience migrating reporting platforms from Domo, Tableau, or similar BI tools to Power BI.
- Experience with Power Platform technologies including Power Apps and Power Automate.
- Knowledge of AI/ML enablement within Fabric.
- Microsoft Azure or Microsoft Fabric certifications.
