Job Summary and Qualifications

The Senior Data Engineering provides technical leadership for the design, implementation, and support of enterprise data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and modern ETL/ELT solutions. The role leads the architecture and development of scalable data pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, and cloud-native services on Google Cloud Platform while mentoring engineers and partnering with business stakeholders.

Successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to establish effective working relationships and manage multiple priorities. Understanding the vision of enterprise development tools and platforms, the position provides hands-on technical leadership for application development projects/production support and provides guidance to other developers in completion of technical deliverables. This also involves working with business partners and business analysts on documenting their business requirements to ensure they are technically feasible and to produce technical designs that will meet the requirements.

Additionally, this position is constantly in search of improvement opportunities for any process involved with the deployment of technical deliverables. This includes requirement and design documentation, development and testing methodology, and deployment process.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as the technical lead for enterprise data engineering and cloud platform initiatives.

Lead architecture and implementation of scalable ETL/ELT pipelines supporting analytics and operational systems.

Design and optimize data models, BigQuery datasets, and enterprise data warehouses.

Develop batch and streaming data pipelines using Cloud Composer (Airflow), Pub/Sub, and Python.

Design, build, and maintain Google Cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code best practices.

Administer IAM, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, Cloud Run, networking, logging, monitoring, and security controls.

Establish CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure and application deployments.

Implement data quality, lineage, validation, monitoring, and observability standards.

Optimize BigQuery workloads using efficient SQL, data modeling, partitioning, and clustering to improve performance and cost efficiency

Optimize SQL performance, partitioning, indexing, and query execution for large datasets.

Mentor engineers, conduct code and architecture reviews, and establish engineering standards.

Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.

What qualifications you will need:

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience - Preferred

EXPERIENCE

5 or more years of experience in Information Technology - Required

3 or more years of experience in a technical lead or mentoring engineering teams – Preferred

The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis.
