Position OverviewBooker DiMaio is seeking an experienced
Senior Data Engineer to support a mission-critical Federal Intelligence Community program. This position is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable data architectures, databases, and data pipelines that support advanced analytics within a highly classified environment.
The ideal candidate has extensive experience building enterprise data solutions, optimizing database performance, integrating data across multiple platforms, and implementing secure data architectures. This individual will work closely with software developers and technical teams while providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise data pipelines and data architectures.
- Build, optimize, and administer relational and NoSQL databases supporting mission-critical applications.
- Design data models and long-term storage solutions to support analytics, reporting, and operational requirements.
- Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes to integrate data from multiple sources.
- Ensure data integrity, availability, performance, and security within a highly classified environment.
- Collaborate with software developers and cross-functional technical teams to support application development and data integration.
- Optimize database performance and troubleshoot complex data engineering challenges.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior data engineers.
Required Qualifications- Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, database administration, or a related field.
- Strong experience designing and implementing enterprise data architectures and scalable data pipelines.
- Advanced experience with Python and SQL, along with experience using Java, Scala, or similar programming languages.
- Experience developing and supporting ETL/ELT processes.
- Experience working with both relational and NoSQL database technologies.
- Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and database optimization.
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and services.
- Knowledge of data security best practices within classified or highly secure environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting Intelligence Community or Department of Defense programs.
- Experience with MLOps and machine learning workflows.
- Knowledge of Data Mesh and Data Fabric architectures.
- Experience with real-time data streaming technologies.
- Experience with Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
- Experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- AWS Certified Data Analytics or other relevant cloud certifications.
