Senior Data Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to develop scalable data solutions that support innovative software and advertising products within the real estate industry. This role will partner with teams across product, engineering, operations, marketing, sales, and customer support to transform complex business needs into reliable data pipelines and actionable insights.

The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, excellent business judgment, and a passion for automation, data quality, and engineering best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that process billions of rows from multiple sources.

• Translate business requirements into clear technical specifications and adaptable data models.

• Monitor and troubleshoot pipeline performance, reliability, scalability, and uptime.

• Automate repeatable processes to improve team efficiency and operational performance.

• Write, test, refactor, and optimize high-quality code for performance, readability, and scalability.

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to understand business processes and data requirements.

• Review technical specifications, system designs, and pull requests while providing constructive feedback.

• Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other team members.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.

• At least 5 years of experience building and maintaining data-intensive applications.

• Proven experience developing production-quality data pipelines that scale to billions of rows.

• Advanced experience with Spark, Airflow, and SQL.

• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or Scala.

• Experience with production deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and data reliability.

• Strong data-modeling experience, including translating business requirements into scalable and adaptable models.

• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

• Experience with Databricks.

• Familiarity with data-visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

• Experience supporting business-to-business products or go-to-market initiatives.
