Senior Data Platform Engineer - AWS & SQL to join its technology team. This is a hands-on opportunity to take ownership of enterprise data architecture and pipelines while working within a collaborative, high-performing environment.
Salary/Hourly Rate: $145,000 - $165,000
Position Overview: The Senior Data Platform Engineer - AWS & SQL will build, optimize, and evolve an enterprise data platform. This is a highly hands-on position requiring advanced SQL skills, strong data architecture experience, and the ability to independently design and build scalable data pipelines.
This position includes a technical SQL assessment, and advanced SQL proficiency is required to move forward in the interview process.
Responsibilities of the Senior Data Platform Engineer - AWS & SQL:- Design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise data architecture and pipelines within AWS.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries across large datasets.
- Build and manage data models and schemas within enterprise data warehouses.
- Develop data solutions using AWS services including S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena, EMR, and Redshift.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data pipelines and infrastructure.
- Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and monitoring processes.
- Design scalable data models using dimensional modeling and star schema concepts.
- Partner with Data Science, Analytics, Engineering, and business stakeholders.
- Improve data lineage, cataloging, governance, and technical documentation.
- Mentor junior and offshore team members and promote data engineering best practices.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior Data Platform Engineer - AWS & SQL:- 6+ years of professional Data Engineering experience.
- Expert-level SQL skills; advanced SQL assessment required.
- Strong hands-on experience building complex SQL queries and optimizing query performance.
- Strong hands-on AWS data engineering experience, particularly S3, Glue, Lambda, Athena, EMR, and Redshift.
- Proven experience designing and implementing data architecture and enterprise data warehouses.
- Strong experience building and maintaining scalable ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Experience with dimensional modeling, star schemas, and large datasets.
- Ability to independently own data solutions from architecture/design through deployment.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior Data Platform Engineer - AWS & SQL:- dbt Labs experience.
- Python proficiency.
- Experience with data governance, data quality, and observability.
- Experience mentoring junior and/or offshore engineers.
- Experience with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
- Git and version-controlled development workflows.
Education Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
