    Senior Data Platform Engineer 

    Hybrid in Lenexa, KS

    Where You’ll Work 
    This position is based in our Lenexa, KS office. We leverage a hybrid working model working three days in the office, two days optional remote work. 

    What You’ll Do 
    The Senior Data Platform Engineer will design, develop, and support cloud-based data solutions within CHA’s Microsoft Azure environment. This hands-on engineering role will focus on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, data integrations, and data platform capabilities using Microsoft Azure technologies, SQL, and Python. The role will collaborate with business and technical teams to deliver reliable, high-quality data solutions while following modern development best practices. 
    • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data solutions using Microsoft Azure technologies. 
    • Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into efficient, reliable, and maintainable data solutions. 
    • Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver data from a variety of internal and external source systems. 
    • Develop reusable frameworks, automation solutions, and data engineering best practices to improve platform efficiency and reliability. 
    • Support CI/CD processes and promote DevOps and DataOps practices across the data platform. 
    • Drive improvements in platform reliability, scalability, observability, and operational efficiency. 
    • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex data pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks, and data quality issues. 
    • Provide technical guidance, support, and recommendations related to Azure data platform, data reliability, consistency, performance, and platform optimization. 
    • Create, maintain, and enhance operational documentation, support runbooks, standards, and knowledge-sharing resources. 
    • Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, testing, deployment, and performance tuning activities while mentoring team members and driving continuous improvement of engineering standards, processes, and technical capabilities. 
     
    What You’ll Bring to CHA 
    Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying.  
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or STEM related field preferred. 
    • 5+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting enterprise data platforms, cloud data solutions, and large-scale data integration environments. 
    • 4+ years of experience building and supporting data pipelines using Microsoft Azure technologies. 
    • Experience designing, developing, and optimizing ETL/ELT solutions for analytics, reporting, and operational data workloads. 
    • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python for data engineering, automation, and performance optimization.   
    • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated deployments, and DevOps/DataOps practices.   
    • Experience working with real-time and event-driven data processing technologies such as Event Hubs, Kafka, Spark Streaming, or related platforms.   
    • Familiarity with healthcare data, FHIR standards, interoperability platforms, or healthcare analytics environments preferred.

    This pay range shown is a guideline. Min: $96,000 – $173,000 Compensation is based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
