Sr. Data Scientist

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Sr. Data Scientist position! This is a 6+ month contract and will be remote in Buffalo, NY. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Lead the conversion of SQL stored procedures to streamlined Alteryx data flows, modernizing data processing infrastructure and improving efficiency
• Design and update existing Tableau dashboards to integrate new data sources, ensuring accurate and actionable visualization for stakeholders
• Build and deploy complex econometric, statistical, and machine learning models including classification, clustering, pattern analysis, and simulations to solve unstructured business problems
• Source, ingest, and clean large and complex data sets in preparation for analysis, ensuring data stability while accounting for complex data drift in development and production environments
• Commit code into model repositories and promote models into production systems, implementing frameworks for building self-healing models
• Develop and evaluate champion/challenger models, selecting and refining models based on performance, reliability, stability metrics, and business feedback
• Create consumable model outputs and present findings in stakeholder meetings to communicate model outcomes, business impact, and value
• Collaborate with senior data scientists to develop new research approaches and provide initial assessments on adapting techniques based on client needs
• Review code to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to best practices while maintaining risk and regulatory compliance standards

What You'll Need to Have:

• 5+ years of experience in data science or related analytical roles, with proven expertise in statistics and data science principles including AB testing, hypothesis testing, and modeling bias
• Advanced proficiency in SQL and ETL processes, with demonstrated ability to work with both on-premise and cloud-based hybrid databases
• Strong hands-on experience with Alteryx workflow development for building and optimizing data flows
• Proven experience developing and maintaining Tableau dashboards with the ability to integrate new data sources
• Solid understanding of modeling techniques including Bayesian Modeling, Classification models, Cluster analysis, Neural Networks, and Multivariate statistics
• Experience with pertinent statistical software, languages, and tools for model development and deployment
• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field (or 9+ years combined higher education and work experience)
• Demonstrated ability to analyze large, complex data sets and translate findings into actionable business insights

Pay Range: $60-70/hr
