Job Description/ Responsibilities :

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator with over 10+ years of expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Public Cloud Administration. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing large-scale, mission-critical database environments and cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, performance, and scalability.

MSSQL Server Administration

• Administer and support SQL Server databases (2012-2022) across production, QA, and development environments.
• Design, implement, and maintain HA/DR solutions including:

o Always On Availability Groups

o Distributed Availability Groups

o Replication (Transactional, Merge, Snapshot)

o Log Shipping

o Mirroring

• Perform advanced performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and resource allocation.
• Implement and manage enterprise grade backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Automate routine tasks using PowerShell, T SQL, SQL Agent Jobs, and custom scripts.
• Monitor database health using tools such as Foglight, SolarWinds, Redgate, and Azure Monitor.
• Plan and execute SQL Server upgrades, migrations, and patching with minimal downtime.
• Enforce database security best practices including RBAC, encryption, auditing, and compliance.

Azure Public Cloud Administration

• Manage and support Azure infrastructure services and cloud resources.
• Provision, configure, and maintain Azure Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Networking, and Monitoring services.
• Implement Azure security controls, role-based access control (RBAC), and governance policies.
• Support cloud migration and modernization initiatives.
• Configure and maintain Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Backup, and Recovery services.
• Manage cloud availability, scalability, performance optimization, and cost management.
• Implement automation using Azure Automation, ARM Templates, and PowerShell scripting.
• Support hybrid cloud and disaster recovery architectures. (Aligned with Azure administration experience identified in related Azure Admin profiles.)
