The Senior Database Administrator serves as the senior technical expert for Remedy/SQL database design, development, and management. This position is accountable for all aspects of database services, providing administration and management of database, clustering, and replication infrastructure (MS SQL Server) across development, quality control, pre-production, and production environments. Primary responsibilities include proactive monitoring of databases from performance and capability management perspectives to ensure reliable, uninterrupted access for customers.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must possess an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance at the time of proposal submission and be able to attain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access by the issuance of the contract.
Must be willing to undergo and pass a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph.
Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain and maintain the required government security clearance.
Must possess a MCSA: SQL Server Certification.
Must possess a Security+ Certification.
Must obtain/retain a government background investigation commensurate with position requirements.
Senior-level expertise in MS SQL Server database planning, architecture, design, and maintenance.
Proven ability to manage clustering and replication infrastructure in a complex enterprise environment.
Communication skills to effectively interface with military officials, managers, and subordinates.
Sufficient expertise in the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP), Army Intelligence, and Microsoft Office and SharePoint to accomplish assigned tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides administration and management of MS SQL Server database, clustering, and replication infrastructure.
Conducts proactive monitoring of databases to manage performance and capacity.
Performs database maintenance activities, including backup and recovery, updates to service packs and patches, and performance optimization.
Ensures data recoverability by implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
Provides monthly database reports regarding SQL Server usage, uptime, and capacity to the COR/TTM.
Ensures the performance, integrity, and security of databases while monitoring user access and document workflow design.
Maintains data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act, and writes database documentation such as procedures and data dictionary definitions.
Controls access permissions and privileges and develops managing and testing backup and recovery plans.
Ensures all major database changes follow the agency Configuration Management Board (CMB) process.
Supports Disaster Recovery and incident response policies and procedures, including reporting and resolution.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field and a minimum of eight (8) years' hands-on experience in MS SQL Server database administration, design, and development; OR a minimum of twelve (12) years' hands-on experience in MS SQL Server database administration, design, and development.

Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Regularly required to sit. Regularly required use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms to handle objects and operate tools, computer, and/or controls. Required to speak and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposed to general office noise with computers printers and light traffic.
