Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with strong hands-on expertise in AWS RDS, IBM Db2, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting complex, enterprise-scale databases in AWS and hybrid environments, with a strong focus on performance, availability, security, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring someone who can independently troubleshoot complex issues, lead database initiatives, mentor DBAs, establish standards, and drive continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities
Administer and support enterprise databases across AWS and hybrid environments.
Manage IBM Db2, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and AWS RDS platforms.
Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, and maintenance.
Conduct performance tuning, capacity planning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Manage backup, restore, recovery, replication, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR).
Troubleshoot complex database incidents, perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and implement preventive solutions.
Ensure database systems meet availability, performance, security, and recovery requirements.
Partner with application, cloud, infrastructure, security, engineering, and service management teams.
Lead and mentor DBA team members, prioritize work, and establish consistent technical standards.
Support major incidents, migrations, upgrades, and high-impact database activities.
Automate routine DBA tasks and improve monitoring, operational efficiency, and database reliability.
Support database security, access management, governance, compliance, documentation, and audits.
Participate in technical design, architecture discussions, change management, and operational readiness.

Qualifications
Experience supporting mission-critical databases in AWS environments.
Ability to troubleshoot issues across databases, applications, operating systems, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
Experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating DBA teams.
Strong communication, technical judgment, ownership, and stakeholder-management skills.
Self-driven and proactive with the ability to work independently in fast-paced environments.
