About the Opportunity:
ZipStaff is seeking a Senior / Principal Oracle PL/SQL Developer to support Strategic Advisors technology for a leading financial services organization in Westlake, TX.
You will design and build enterprise, cloud-enabled distributed data solutions, contribute directly to the codebase, and help raise engineering standards across a multi-disciplinary team. This role requires deep Oracle SQL/PL/SQL expertise plus experience with batch/ETL processing and mid-tier integration.
What You’ll Do:
- Design and implement software solutions that meet functional and non-functional requirements and align to program strategy.
- Write and optimize Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, including data analysis, data modeling, data APIs, and performance tuning.
- Write and maintain batch jobs using ETL / Informatica and Autosys.
- Lead application design efforts and participate in design and code reviews.
- Contribute to product quality plans, including test-case development and regression testing with a focus on automation.
- Enhance engineering practices in ATDD and CI/CD.
- Collaborate with global developers and apply standard software-engineering methodologies.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to help team members perform at a high level.
- Translate storyboards and use cases into maintainable, high-quality applications.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of professional software / database development experience with strong Oracle SQL and PL/SQL expertise.
- Proven experience in data analysis, data modeling, data API design/implementation, and SQL/PL/SQL performance tuning.
- Experience writing and maintaining batch jobs with ETL / Informatica and Autosys.
- Understanding of fundamental design principles for scalable applications.
- Knowledge of mid-tier technologies such as Java, messaging, and web containers, and how they interact with data.
- Experience working in an Agile delivery environment with CI/CD tools and practices.
- Ability to write clean, testable, readable, maintainable, and performant code.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Westlake, TX.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in investment management, separately managed accounts (SMA), or other asset-management technology platforms.
- Experience leading design reviews and mentoring developers on a global team.
- Hands-on contribution to ATDD and automated regression practices.
