Senior Day Program Counselors will provide full support to individuals including dining, lifting, direct personal care, development and implementation of activities, supervision/oversight of individuals to ensure that they are carrying out their goals.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for accurately documenting and providing services to the individuals they supportPromote independence and community inclusionResponsible for the implementation of the day program plans, opportunities for self-determination, independent activity, increased productivity and greater community inclusionMay function as a Team Leader for each individual assignedMay be responsible for the direction of all staff assigned to that program areaRequirementsHigh School diploma or equivalent is requiredA minimum of one (1) year of job related experience is required, specifically working with people with developmental disabilities or related fieldA minimum of an Associate's degree or two completed years of college may be considered in lieu of the 1 year experienceMust be at least 18 years old and able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds to apply for this positionIf you are employed by a U.S Federal, State, Local or Tribal Government or Not-for-Profit organization, you may be eligible for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program that is funded by New York State.
