Join a major utility organization as the technical authority responsible for ensuring overhead distribution projects meet engineering standards before construction begins.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior utility professional who prefers quality assurance, technical compliance, constructability reviews, and engineering governance over day-to-day design production.
Responsibilities
Review overhead distribution design packages at multiple project milestones
Validate design accuracy and standards compliance
Identify technical deficiencies and provide corrective recommendations
Review grounding systems, conductor selection, transformer sizing, clearances, pole loading, and protection schemes
Track and document standards exceptions and deviations
Support continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities
Partner with design providers to improve first-pass quality
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum 6 years of electric utility distribution experience
Experience with overhead distribution systems
Strong analytical and technical review skills
Ability to communicate findings clearly with engineering teams and stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Design QA/QC experience
Utility standards review experience
4.8kV to 13.2kV conversion program experience
Knowledge of pole loading and sag/tension analysis
PE License preferred
Compensation & Benefits
$85-$95/hr
