Desired Candidate Profile:
Minimum required years of experience: 3 YOE in Materials Design
Education requirements: Bachelors or equivalent experience
Must have skills:
Has a high taste level, understands consumer trends, understands tactile materials
Has worked on larger projects with consumer goods
Portfolio: strong storytelling - should be able to see their design process and how the end result was decided on, should be clear which parts they worked on and were a decision maker on
Nice to have skills:
Open to experience in industrial material design, textile material design, or apparel material design
Has a strong interest in street wear and trends
Software/technical requirements:

We re looking for an Expert Footwear Materials Designer to combine their experience, problem-solving abilities, and creativity to help create the future of Footwear Materials.
The category you will work in is the Mens Sportswear Classics Expression Footwear.
The ideal candidate must be a highly creative problem solver, detail-oriented, and consumer-obsessed, familiar with the current world of trends and culture. This person will be focused on elevating the consumer experience by creating trend-relevant materials for iconic silhouettes while driving an emotional connection to materials for the consumer through narrative and storytelling.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON:
If this is you, you will be working on a most iconic models in the lifestyle space.
You will design new materials using the latest techniques, curating and elevating existing materials for refresh and collection models.
Your work encompasses concepting and ideating with your design partners and team, through to finalizing tech packs and working with manufacturing partners to problem-solve technical issues that may arise.
The daily responsibilities of this role are wide-ranging, challenging, and rewarding.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH:
You will partner with the Mens Expression creative director, Material Design leadership, Color Design, Graphic Design, Digital Design and Marketing & Development teams to bring to life the seasonal creative direction through Footwear Materials design and innovation.
This will report directly to the Senior Manager, Mens Sportswear Classics Expression Footwear Material Design.
WHAT YOU BRING:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Textiles, Materials, Apparel, or other relevant design field or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
Experience:
At least 3 years of relevant design experience exemplifying ability to push material design, and/or relevant experience in Textile Design or Footwear Design.
Ability to translate consumer knowledge/insights to narratives and product executions.
Ability to create concepts and explore new Materials, innovations and technologies, and ideas
Experience building inspiration/concept presentations and mood boards for seasonal concepts and direction
Experience building 3D samples and creating mockup samples by hand
Participates in the communication and presentation of design concepts to internal and external audiences
Collaborate and build interpersonal connections with design and adjacent functions Ability to create and edit files using Adobe programs, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
Ability to participate in multiple seasonal projects with competing resources and deadlines
Understanding the Footwear Product Creation process is a plus.
Experience with sustainability is a plus.
