Senior Desktop Engineer
The City of Concord is currently seeking to fill one Senior Desktop Engineer vacancy in the Information Technology Department.
The Information Development Department:
The mission of the Information Technology Department is to ensure Concord's technology portfolio provides the appropriate set of tools required for delivering high-quality services to internal departments, Concord residents, and other agencies in a consistent manner sustainable over the 10-year budget horizon.

SELECTION PROCESS

Conviction History and Background Investigation:
If you receive a conditional job offer, you will be fingerprinted, and your fingerprints will be sent to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). The resulting report of your conviction history (if any) will be used to determine whether the nature of your conviction conflicts with the specific duties and responsibilities of the job for which you have received a conditional job offer. Qualifications
Knowledge and Abilities
Considerable knowledge of patterns and trends in computer technology with emphasis on structured design, analysis, relational databases, and programming techniques; of uses, capabilities, characteristics and limitations of computer systems and of various modern computer languages for business applications.
Ability to lead and perform systems analysis and programming activities; to learn and effectively apply related equipment, policies, procedures, and practices affecting systems and programming activities; to identify ways of achieving improvements and efficiency in a fashion responsive to needs of users; to develop and maintain appropriate documentation; to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; and to establish and maintain cooperative and effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Education/Experience
Education: Possession of a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible employment in systems and application programming; preferably including responsibility for leading the work of others.

A California Drivers License and a satisfactory driving record are conditions of initial and continued employment.
