Salary/Hourly Rate: $64.50/hr - $140/hr
Position Overview: The experienced Senior DevOps Architect will provide technical leadership for the design and implementation of enterprise DevOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and platform reliability strategies. The Senior DevOps Architect will establish scalable, secure, and repeatable architecture patterns that improve infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, application deployment, recovery, and ongoing operational support. The Senior DevOps Architect will define technical standards and reference architectures across Azure DevOps, Git, Terraform, Ansible, HashiCorp Packer, Vault, Nutanix AHV, and related automation technologies. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader who can establish architecture standards while providing guidance to engineering teams responsible for implementation.
Responsibilities of the Senior DevOps Architect:- Define the overall DevOps and Infrastructure as Code architecture and technical roadmap.
- Establish reusable patterns for automated infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
- Design CI/CD architecture using Azure DevOps and Git.
- Incorporate appropriate controls, approvals, testing, and deployment practices into CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop secure secrets and credential-management patterns using Vault and approved enterprise solutions.
- Ensure credentials and sensitive information remain outside source-code repositories.
- Provide architecture guidance across Nutanix AHV, Linux, Windows, Oracle, networking, storage, and infrastructure services.
- Drive automation initiatives that reduce manual processes and configuration drift.
- Improve infrastructure repeatability, recovery readiness, and operational efficiency.
- Integrate observability and operational validation into DevOps architectures.
- Utilize Grafana, Prometheus, and alerting capabilities to support platform monitoring.
- Partner with Infrastructure, Application, Security, Networking, Database, and Operations teams.
- Translate technical and business requirements into maintainable enterprise architectures.
- Provide technical leadership and design guidance to DevOps and IaC engineers.
- Establish architecture documentation, standards, implementation patterns, and operational handoff requirements.
Required Experience/Skills for the Senior DevOps Architect:- Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise DevOps architectures.
- Strong experience with Azure DevOps and Git.
- Hands-on expertise with Terraform and Ansible.
- Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience.
- Experience with CI/CD architecture and automated deployment practices.
- Experience with HashiCorp technologies, including Vault and Packer.
- Strong understanding of secure secrets and credential management.
- Experience with Nutanix AHV and enterprise virtualization.
- Strong Linux and Windows infrastructure experience.
- Experience supporting Oracle-related platforms and enterprise infrastructure services.
- Strong understanding of networking and storage concepts.
- Experience designing automation and configuration-management solutions.
- Experience with monitoring and observability technologies.
- Knowledge of Grafana, Prometheus, and alerting platforms.
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery and infrastructure recovery automation.
- Ability to establish technical standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns.
- Strong technical leadership and communication skills.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Senior DevOps Architect:- Experience leading enterprise-wide DevOps transformation initiatives.
- Experience reducing configuration drift through infrastructure automation.
- Experience designing highly repeatable infrastructure provisioning processes.
- Experience integrating security controls into DevOps and CI/CD architectures.
- Experience working across infrastructure, application, security, networking, database, and operations teams.
- Strong documentation and architecture governance experience.
- Experience mentoring and guiding DevOps/IaC Engineering teams.
- Ability to balance hands-on technical depth with strategic architecture leadership.
- Experience developing operational handoff and platform reliability standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into practical technical solutions.
Education Requirements:- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Equivalent professional experience in DevOps, infrastructure architecture, or platform engineering will be considered.
