Job Title: Senior DevOps Engineer

Salary: $90k- $178k per annum
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Kubernetes or OpenShift, Jenkins, and Groovy-based Jenkins libraries. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in automation, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, scripting, and modern DevOps tooling.
This role involves supporting technology teams in a customer-facing environment, resolving technical issues, guiding team members, and contributing to broader engineering and operational objectives. The position provides an opportunity to apply and expand expertise across cloud, containerization, automation, build and release engineering, observability, and security tooling.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, including shared libraries developed in Groovy and Shell scripting.
- Manage container orchestration using Kubernetes or OpenShift, including deployment strategies, RBAC, ingress, and monitoring.
- Support and optimize build and release processes for Java 17 applications using Maven.
- Collaborate with development teams to implement SCM best practices using Git and GitHub.
- Develop automation scripts and tooling using Python to improve operational efficiency and monitoring integrations.
- Integrate and automate security and quality gates using tools such as SonarQube and Checkmarx.
- Leverage observability tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace for proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Support infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform.
- Support deployments and release automation through UDeploy (UrbanCode Deploy), as applicable.
- Guide team members in resolving technical issues and contribute to continuous improvement of DevOps practices.
Required Qualifications- 10+ years of hands-on DevOps and engineering experience.
- Strong experience with Kubernetes or OpenShift, including deployments, Helm, YAML, and related container orchestration capabilities.
- Strong experience with Jenkins, including Pipeline as Code and shared libraries using Groovy.
- Hands-on experience with Shell scripting and Groovy.
- Experience using Python scripting for custom automation and monitoring integrations.
- Experience with the Maven build system, specifically for Java 17-based applications.
- Strong experience with Git and GitHub workflows, including pull requests and branching strategies.
- Experience with GitHub Actions.
- Experience with AWS and Terraform.
- Experience with Azure.
- Strong understanding of automation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and modern DevOps practices.
Desired Qualifications / Non-Essential Skills- Experience with SonarQube and Checkmarx for static code analysis and security scanning.
- Experience with Splunk and Dynatrace for logs, alerts, application insights, and observability.
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure lifecycle management and IaC deployments.
- Experience with UDeploy (UrbanCode Deploy).
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and concepts.
- Demonstrated ability and interest in learning new technologies.
- Strong communication, collaboration, troubleshooting, and technical guidance skills.
Education
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
