Senior DevOps Engineer
Position Location: Pittsburgh, PA, 15222 / Strongsville, OH, 44136 / Dallas, TX, 75234 / Birmingham, AL, 35233 / Phoenix, AZ, 85016
Onsite 5 days a week
Pay Rate: $60 to 90/hr. on W2 ONLY
Length of Assignment: 4 Months Contract to Hire role
Function of the Group: production-grade, enterprise-scale automation solutions.
Initiatives/Projects: CI/CD Pipeline Engineering Team- Orange Rocket, rolling out GitHub enterprise.
Industry background: Banking or finance industry- preferred, Enterprise wide experience is a must.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and optimize enterprise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
Integrate GitHub Actions with tools such as Jenkins and JFrog Artifactory.
Build and maintain automation frameworks, reusable workflows, and pipelines.
Contribute to performance monitoring, observability, and operational readiness.
Design and implement API integrations and automation solutions.
Support migration/modernization efforts (e.g., Jenkins to GitHub Actions) where applicable.
Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment efficiency and platform reliability.
Must Have Technical Skills (10-15 years of experience required):
1. Deep experience with GitHub Actions in an enterprise environment,
2. Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and tool integration (Jenkins, GitHub, JFrog Artifactory),
3. Experience developing Jenkins Shared Libraries (Groovy),
4. Proficiency with Git-based platforms (GitHub, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps),
5. Strong development background in one or more languages: Golang, Python, Java, or JavaScript,
6. Experience developing and integrating with APIs and services,
7. Experience deploying applications to Kubernetes / OpenShift using Helm,
8. Strong expertise with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift,
9. Experience writing Dockerfiles and building container images,
10. Familiarity with enterprise DevOps practices, including security, scalability, and reliability considerations,
11. Experience working in complex, production environments.

Pre-Screening Questions:
1. Can you describe a GitHub Actions framework or platform you designed for multiple teams? How did you handle reusability, scalability, and governance (e.g., reusable workflows, secrets management, permissions)?
2. Tell me about a migration or integration you led involving Jenkins and GitHub Actions. What challenges did you encounter (e.g., shared libraries, pipeline parity, performance), and how did you address them?
3. How have you improved performance, observability, or reliability in a CI/CD system at scale? What metrics, tooling, or architectural changes did you implement?
Interview Process: First Round: A 30 min virtual panel interview, Second round: virtual 1 hour technical panel interview.
