    Description:

    Provides leadership and daily oversight of an integrated program encompassing a complex center or multiple departments at the University. Oversees budget administration, allocation of resources, projects, and supervision of staff.

    1.Develops, implements, and directs a comprehensive program for a complex center or multiple departments.

    2.Collaborates with the leadership team to establish priorities for departments.

    3.Develops and manage budgets, staffing plans, and departmental goals in alignment with the division''s strategies.

    4.Establishes performance metrics and lead efforts to monitor departmental activities. 5.Represents department to internal and external constituents.

    6.Creates or review policies and processes and implement improvements.

    7.Hires and directs the activities of staff identifying the department goals and ensures all are met. 8.Performs other job-related duties as required.

    MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.

    Requires a minimum of seven (7) years of directly job-related experience.

    Leads overall strategy for board and volunteer engagement within the Division of Advancement and Alumni''s priorities and goals. Directs opportunities for leaders of industry, executive leaders, and donors to serve the university with a goal of progressing strategic initiatives by serving on advisory committees, leadership boards and think tanks. Oversees strategic engagement of volunteer leaders by working collaboratively to ensure high-quality and meaningful engagement.

    1. Leads the Board and Volunteer Engagement team by developing a mission, vision and annual goals that complement the Division''s strategic plan; sets overall direction for the team.

    2. Builds and implements effective nomination, onboarding and engagement programs that support the University''s goals and objectives.

    3. Plans and executes executive leadership volunteer opportunities on advisory committees, leadership boards and think tanks, as a direct component of philanthropic giving for the Division of Advancement and Alumni.

    4. Cultivates relationships with major donors to coordinate volunteer leadership opportunities and continued donor engagement strategies. Acts as a University representative to ensure donors and volunteers are connected and acclimated to the committee on which they serve.

    5. Provides leadership for designing, collaborating around, and implementing communication strategies so that volunteer engagement and recognition are consistent in publications, events and custom engagement opportunities.

    6. Collaborates with Division partners and campus clients to develop effective volunteer engagement and recognition opportunities to complement major and principal gift fundraising.

    7. Collaborates with college/school/unit-based development colleagues to develop and implement volunteer participation strategies for each area''s fundraising business plan.

    8. Serves as an internal consultant, collaborator, and leader with colleagues in Annual Giving, Major and Principal Gifts, Gift Planning, Corporate and Foundation Relations, Constituent Engagement, Prospect Research, IT and all fundraising units, and the UH Alumni Association, as determined.

    9. Administers the department budget and personnel.
