Overview
Are you energized by the prospect of leading in a fast paced, high impact environment creating and executing the technology strategy for Microsoft's global portfolio of events? We are looking for an experienced Senior Director, Events Technology & Operations to lead and inspire an organization of skilled event technology, broadcast, and operations professionals in an unprecedented era of innovation and transformation. This role will lead the development of our global events technology strategy while delivering diverse portfolio of Flagship and Scale events. A successful candidate will have executive presence, and ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels in the organization and across the company.

Responsibilities
- Define, evangelize, and execute the long-term vision for Microsofts event technology ecosystem to create attendee-centric attendee experiences.
- Oversee the successful development and delivery of the technology solutions enabling Microsoft flagship events (Build, Ignite, AI Tour) and key Microsoft communications moments.
- Lead Microsoft's Global Broadcast Operations Center, responsible for the transmission and streaming of Microsoft's critical media communications.
- Establish and manage a portfolio-based approach to technology investments that optimize workflow and drive efficiency.
- Ensure event platforms, infrastructure, networking, and attendee-facing experiences meet world-class standards for performance, accessibility, scalability, and reliability.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to define technology needs and communicate project plans, timelines, and deliverables.
- Ensure robust QA protocols and contingency plans to ensure seamless execution.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 12+ years of experience in Technology and/or Marketing Technology and/or Event Operations, including but not limited to registration, content, speaker and schedule management, mobile apps, attendee wayfinding, networking, and meeting scheduling
- OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
- Masters Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 10+ years of experience in Technology and/or Marketing Technology and/or Event Operations, including but not limited to registration, content, speaker and schedule management, mobile apps, attendee wayfinding, networking, and meeting scheduling
- OR Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Finance, Engineering, or related field AND 14+ years of experience in Technology and/or Marketing Technology and/or Event Operations, including but not limited to registration, content, speaker and schedule management, mobile apps, attendee wayfinding, networking, and meeting scheduling
- OR equivalent experience.
- 6+ years people management experience.
- 6+ years technology/process improvement experience.
- 10+ years experience with knowledge management and/or digital publishing modalities (e.g., Web, social media, in-product, training)
- 10+ years experience in event technology.
- 5+ years experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
- Experience executing in-person and digital events, inclusive of broadcast & streaming distribution.
- Experience translating marketing objectives into creative and engaging technical solutions that create improved attendee experiences and drive business impact
- Experience managing the technical components of multiple, high-profile events in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in developing programs and processes that scale.
Marketing Technology M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $155,800 - $277,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $202,400 - $303,600 per year.
