POSITION SUMMARY

The Senior Director of Facilities Project Management oversees the Station Condition Surveying Program and partners with C&D Planning and Development to lead project scoping, scheduling, and cost estimating activities. This role provides strategic leadership for the planning and delivery of capital projects within the Department of Subways, Division of Facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sr. Director of Facilities Project Management provides strategic leadership for the Station Condition Surveying Program and oversees the planning and delivery of capital projects within the Department of Subways, Division of Facilities. This role partners closely with C&D Planning and Development to lead project scoping, scheduling, and cost estimating activities while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project requirements, contract documents, specifications, and applicable policies and standards.

The Sr. Director is responsible for overseeing all phases of project execution, including monitoring project progress, identifying and mitigating risks, managing critical path activities, and resolving complex project issues. The role serves as a key liaison with C&D Delivery and Development, Department of Subways stakeholders, Code Compliance, OSS, and field personnel to ensure successful project coordination and execution. Additionally, this position provides leadership to project teams, including staff, contractors, consultants, and other resources, to drive the safe and effective delivery of critical capital infrastructure projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation or related field
• Must possess a minimum of 9 years related experience
• Must possess at least 5 years of managerial/supervisory experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or Registered Architect desirable

DESIRED SKILLS

• Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and other business applications, including PeopleSoft, Oracle, and Windows-based systems.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills, including presentation development, report and correspondence writing, and time management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and effectively coordinate complex projects in a fast-paced environment.
