About the Role:

The Senior Director of Finance serves as a divisional CFO, and a senior financial leader to the executive leadership team at DeVivo Companies, a division of DATTCO. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role partners closely with executive and operational leaders to drive financial performance, improve decision making, support strategic growth initiatives, and strengthen operational accountability across a complex, multi-location business.

This position blends hands on financial and accounting leadership with strategic financial planning and business partnership. The Senior Director of Finance ensures financial information is accurate, controls are strong, and leaders have the insight needed to improve profitability, cash flow, capital efficiency, and long term business performance.

What You'll Own
Financial Leadership:

• Serve as the primary finance business partner to the DeVivo Companies leadership team while supporting the CFO on strategic initiatives.
• Translate financial results into meaningful business insights and actionable recommendations.
• Present financial performance, trends, risks, and opportunities to executive leadership.
• Support strategic planning, acquisition analysis, business development initiatives, and other growth opportunities.
• Serve as a trusted financial advisor to company leadership and operating managers.

Financial Planning & Performance:
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, reforecasting, and long-range planning processes.
• Deliver accurate and timely monthly and quarterly financial reporting across multiple operating units.
• Prepare and explain variance analysis compared to budget, forecast, prior year, and operating expectations.
• Develop financial models supporting capital investments, pricing strategies, contract decisions, labor planning, technology investments, and operational initiatives.
• Build dashboards, KPIs, scorecards, and performance metrics that improve organizational visibility and accountability.
• Monitor performance against budgets, forecasts, and approved capital plans.

Accounting & Financial Stewardship:
• Oversee monthly close activities, including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, financial statement reviews, and supporting workpapers.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of balance sheet and income statement reporting.
• Maintain strong internal controls, financial safeguards, approval processes, and compliance with company policies.
• Oversee cash flow, capital planning, working capital management, and financial risk management.
• Support tax, audit, compliance, and external CPA requirements in coordination with Corporate Finance and Accounting.
• Partner with corporate finance and accounting teams to maintain consistent financial processes and reporting across the organization.

Business Partnership & Operational Finance:
• Collaborate closely with operational leaders to improve profitability, productivity, margin performance, and cost discipline.
• Evaluate pricing strategies, customer contracts, fleet investments, labor models, facility improvements, technology initiatives, and capital expenditures.
• Support ROI analysis and investment planning for fleet, equipment, facilities, systems, and business growth initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency while supporting sustainable growth.

Leadership:
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop members of the finance and accounting team.
• Direct and support a team including accounting, accounts receivable, and administrative finance personnel.
• Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, collaboration, and business partnership.
• Build strong cross-functional relationships based on trust, transparency, and shared success.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

What You Bring
Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required.
• CPA, CMA, MBA, or advanced degree preferred.

Experience:
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance leadership experience.
• Strong background in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance management.
• Experience leading monthly close processes, financial reporting, internal controls, and accounting operations.
• Experience supporting operational leaders within asset-intensive, multi-location businesses preferred.
• Transportation, fleet, dealership, service, distribution, manufacturing, or similarly complex operational industry experience strongly preferred.
• Proven experience leading finance teams and developing talent.

Skills:
• Strong financial acumen and ability to connect financial performance to business strategy.
• Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial audiences.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence decisions across all levels of the organization.
• Experience developing financial reporting, financial models, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.
• High degree of ownership, accountability, sound judgment, and attention to detail.

• Occasional travel to company locations throughout the region.
