About the Role:

We're looking for a Senior Director, Program Management on the Program Management team to help us expand what's possible for patients with serious and rare diseases. Reporting to the Executive Director, Research & Respiratory Disease Program Management, you'll serve as a senior strategic leader and the operational backbone of the Global Program Team (GPT) - enabling the Global Program Head (GPH) to lead with strategic focus while ensuring disciplined, integrated execution across the full program lifecycle, from development through regulatory submission, manufacturing, and commercial launch.

This role is central to Insmed's Program-First operating model, where the Senior Director, Program Management acts as both the operational engine of the GPT and a visible enterprise leader - shaping how program management is practiced across the organization, mentoring the next generation of PM talent, and driving cross-functional alignment, program governance, and execution rigor across all functions and geographies.

A key differentiator for this role is the ability to operate effectively at the interface of development and commercial - bringing program management rigor to cross-functional commercial planning, launch readiness, and market-facing initiatives. Approximately 25% of this role will be dedicated to supporting the Respiratory Diagnosis Expansion team as an embedded PM, ensuring structured execution and cross-functional coordination across relevant functions.

What You'll Do:

In this role, you'll serve as a senior strategic advisor, organizational integrator, and enterprise PM leader - proactively steering the GPT and the broader Diagnosis organization toward the most critical decisions, while building the operational and leadership infrastructure that enables Insmed's programs and diagnostic mission to scale. You'll also:

• Strategic Program Leadership & GPH Partnership - Serve as the senior operational proxy to the Global Program Head, co-owning integrated program strategy and ensuring alignment between GPT priorities, functional plans, and corporate/portfolio objectives; represent the program with authority at executive forums and governance bodies.
• GPT Facilitation & Organizational Effectiveness - Lead GPT meeting design and ongoing team effectiveness, including working norms, decision rights, cadence, and communication pathways; model and champion the Program-First mindset across the organization, reinforcing shared accountability and cross-functional collaboration at all levels.
• Integrated Planning, Critical Path & Resource Stewardship - Define and manage critical path activities, integrated timelines, resource plans, and program budgets across all functions; proactively identify and resolve cross-functional dependencies, bottlenecks, and trade-offs before they become program risks.
• Program Documentation & Risk Governance - Lead development and maintenance of TPPs, IDPs, IEPs, dashboards, risk assessments, decision logs, and version-controlled program records; ensure visibility of key metrics, material risks, and outcomes across the GPT and senior leadership.
• Scenario Planning & Executive Communication - Prepare and present alternative development and risk management scenarios, options, and recommendations to GPT and Senior/Executive Leadership; own the program narrative with clarity, confidence, and strategic framing appropriate for C-suite audiences.
• Regulatory, LCM & Health Authority Oversight - Oversee Life Cycle Management activities and Health Authority submissions (IND, NDA, JNDA, MAA, BLA) in coordination with Regulatory Affairs; support cross-functional launch readiness planning and commercial milestone tracking.
• Governance & Executive Engagement - Facilitate governance forums, executive-level milestone readiness reviews, and sub-team reviews; lead drafting and co-creation of Executive Committee materials, ensuring program decisions are framed with rigor, transparency, and strategic context.
• Commercial & Cross-Functional PM Support - Apply program management discipline to support the Respiratory Diagnosis Expansion team, ensuring structured execution, meeting cadence, cross-functional accountability, and integrated planning across relevant functions (Advocacy, Medical, Market Access, Commercial, CE); leverage commercial acumen to connect development priorities with market-facing execution.
• PM Operating Model & Process Innovation - Partner with the PM team and global organization to design, implement, and continuously improve program management processes, tools, and business structures; drive standardization and simplification across programs and geographies, and identify opportunities to leverage external innovation or partnerships.
• Enterprise Leadership, Talent Development & Organizational Capability - Mentor and develop program management talent across the organization; build PM capability through coaching, feedback, and modeling of high-performance leadership behaviors; contribute to PM community of practice and organizational learning in ways that strengthen Insmed's long-term program execution capacity.

Who You Are:

You have a Bachelor's degree in a scientific, medical, or business discipline along with 15+ years of progressive Program/Project Management experience in a biotech or biopharmaceutical environment, with demonstrated senior leadership in a global, matrix organization. You are or you also have:

• Proven track record of leading drug programs from early development through commercialization, including regulatory submissions (NDA, BLA, MAA, IND) and product launches, with demonstrated ability to operate with authority and strategic influence at the executive level.
• Experience working within or alongside Global Program Teams (GPTs) or equivalent cross-functional program structures in a Program-First or matrix operating model, including experience shaping or evolving the operating model itself.
• Demonstrated experience managing Life Cycle Management (LCM) activities, Health Authority interactions, and cross-functional launch readiness.
• Meaningful exposure to commercial program management - including cross-functional launch readiness, commercial milestone tracking, or market-facing execution - is a key differentiator for this role; diagnosis-specific expertise is not required.
• Executive presence and organizational influence - ability to lead through ambiguity, challenge assumptions constructively, and represent programs and the PM function with credibility at the most senior levels of the organization.

Nice to have (but not required):

• Advanced degree strongly preferred: Ph.D., Pharm.D., M.D., or MBA - consistent with Senior Director-level expectations in biotech/pharma.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus; other relevant certifications also valued.
• Background in rare disease, respiratory, or specialty therapeutics preferred; experience working across development and commercial functions - including launch planning, market access, or commercial operations - is strongly valued.
• Proficiency in program management tools: MS Project, Smartsheet, Veeva, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint; experience with portfolio planning platforms a plus.

Where You’ll Work

This is a hybrid role based out of our Bridgewater, NJ office. You’ll have the option to work remotely most of the time, with in-person collaboration when it matters most.

Travel Requirements

This position involves frequent global travel (up to 20%) to support diagnosis acceleration initiatives, commercial engagement, and global program responsibilities.
