Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) is seeking a Senior Director to join our Transaction Advisory Group (TAG). As a Senior Director, you will work with our highly motivated and effective team of professionals on a variety of interesting projects across different industries. You will provide our clients with an integrated due diligence approach that goes beyond traditional quality of earning analyses and focus on key value drivers for sponsors and lenders.

About the Transaction Advisory Group:

The Transaction Advisory Group (TAG) is a subsidiary of A&M, an established leader in providing global leadership and advisory services to a variety of diverse industries. TAG professionals specialize largely in providing financial and accounting buy-side and sell-side due diligence, capital markets, and accounting advisory, global transaction analytics, environmental, technical & sustainability (ETS) advisory, and other related M&A services for private equity, hedge funds, sovereign wealth, family office, and corporate clients around the world.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Director, your responsibilities will include:

  • Counseling and mentoring all levels of employees
  • Effectively leading the team in conversations with clients and lenders
  • Managing and prioritizing engagements and responsibilities appropriately
  • Effectively handling all relationship matters with clients with limited Managing Director involvement
  • Managing multiple chargeable and non-chargeable projects of varying size and complexity
  • Identifying potential transaction risks and implementing strategies to address risks
  • Acting as a subject matter expert in technical accounting subjects relevant to TAG
  • Generating a full due diligence report
  • Leading the Quality of Earnings P&L and Working Capital analyses
  • Effectively managing day-to-day client interaction and relationships and continuing to emphasize the capabilities of A&M to clients
  • Managing client relationships and ensuring all client needs are met
  • Developing and proposing creative solutions to engagement and transaction risks and effectively managing problem resolution
  • Helping engagement executives in maximizing the value the client is receiving from A&M, i.e., monitoring engagement leverage efficiency of staff and appropriateness of T&Es billed by all team members
  • Proactively recruiting, training, and developing individuals of all levels for TAG
  • Engaging in training initiatives, including developing and teaching courses as appropriate
  • Displaying a core understanding of all TAG services FDDODD and striving to cross-sell TAG and other A&M services as opportunities arise
  • Abiding by risk management guidelines and engagement review memo procedures
  • Gathering applicable conflict check information and coordinating with Managing Directors to set up engagement codes and other engagement requirements
  • Assisting Managing Directors and Senior Director in sales and business development efforts
  • Contributing to sales pursuits and generating new client business and/or adding on business from current clients
  • Identifying and pursuing referrals from existing clients and new client opportunities by attending industry conferences
  • Appropriately managing engagement risk and potential client or engagement issues

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of financial accounting due diligence experience at a top accounting firm
  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Accounting and/or related major
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or in the process of obtaining one
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting, and purchase accounting
  • High proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to articulate to senior members of target management, client representatives, and colleagues
  • Strong project management skills
  • Flexibility to work as both a team member in a collaborative setting and as an individual contributor
  • Ability to thrive and be effective in fast-paced settings

The base salary is $225,000 annually, dependent on several variables, including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program, which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.

Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings fringe benefits, including healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life AD&D, and disability coverages, at rates determined from time to time, as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal.
