Job Description:
- Payrate: $112/hr W2 (Overall 14 year of experience required)
- Payrate: $93/hr W2 (Overall 9 year of experience required)
- Duration: 6-12 months contract (possible extension based on performance and budget).
- 1st shift: 8am to 4:30pm
- Seeking Senior DSP Systems Engineers to join the Space and Launch Engineering team in El Segundo, California, to design and develop state-of-the-art, space-based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security programs.
- You will be part of a highly-motivated team that works with domestic and international customers on the latest satellite systems.
- Project assignments typically span the unit life cycle, from internal trades, concept studies and system definition, to satellite unit development and test.
- You will belong to a systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers, and senior technologists.
- This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 6+ years of experience with signal processing or image processing. (1+ year exp for another position)
- 10+ years of experience with electronic systems engineering. (5+ year exp for another position)
Preferred Skills:
- Master’s degree in or similar degree in signal processing or algorithm development focus
- Development of algorithms for hardware implementation on ASICs or FPGAs
- Digital Signal Processing based classes, projects or work experience
- Simulink experience in work or school. Python, C++, or other languages acceptable
- Substantive involvement and/or leadership in group-oriented project work
- Verification planning and principles, while applying their theoretical knowledge in resolving real world problems
- Typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications (9 years of exp for another position)
Position Responsibilities:
- Design and develop next generation RF, and digital satellite communication systems.
- Develop and verify multi-rate*** fixed-point digital signal processing architectures.
- Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces in the development of communication digital payloads.
- Develop performance and link budgets.
- Conduct performance analysis of signal processing models.
- Execute payload subsystem trade studies to improve performance cost and/or schedule.
- Develop prototype demonstrations on communication subsystem testbeds.
- Plan unit-level integration and performance simulations.
- Support ASIC and FPGA level system design and verification.
- Support hardware procurement, design reviews, and unit sell-offs.
