Overview
The Senior Echocardiographer is responsible for performing and analyzing advanced echocardiographic procedures, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and stress echocardiography, to assess cardiac function and pathology. They collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to provide accurate diagnostic information, mentor junior staff, and ensure the highest standards of patient care. The role requires maintaining up-to-date knowledge of echocardiographic techniques, equipment, and industry standards while adhering to safety protocols and ethical guidelines. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for training staff, managing schedules, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.
Performs two dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities. Completes the technologist report in the structured report application. Provides leadership to support department with respect to staffing schedule, accreditation, staff education or other duties as defined by management. Supports Cardiac Operating Room Echocardiogram needs.
