Overview:
To develop and maintain HIPAA compliant ANSI X12 transactions and support in EDI and other
application development at PHC. Responsibilities include designing, coding, testing, and
implementing each of the federal and/or state mandated transactions and other EDI applications
using tools & technologies such as Edifecs’s Smart Trading including Spec Builder, Enterprise
Application Manager, XEngine and Transaction Manager and scheduling systems such as Active
Batch and database technologies such as MS SQL Server & Oracle and MS .Net/SSIS/SSRS and
Web Services.
Responsibilities:
- Develop HIPAA compliant ANSI X12 EDI transactions and support EDI application
development using an established SDLC methodology - Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages like C# and Java
- Experience in managing EDIFECS installation, usage and overall working conditions
- Create/update maps, guidelines and profiles using Edifecs tools such as SpecBuilder,
Map Builder, XEngine and EAM as per the requirements.
Have good understanding of business rules and extensive experience creating EDI
process flows and roadmaps - Interpret business issues and recommend EDIFECS solutions/best practices
- Develop web services using technologies such as .NET, SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, and
REST - Provide on-going maintenance support to EDI and HIPAA transactions, processes and
application development - Have strong PL/SQL background with extensive experience coding Stored Procedures,
Functions triggers in Oracle 11 and above - Have strong specialization or substantial project work in Python object-oriented
programming or Windows PowerShell scripting - Lead the team in designing, coding, testing and implementation of newer processes and
systems - Learn state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques and bring-in
innovative ideas to keep improving the existing processes and applications. - Use sound technical judgment and make appropriate system decisions.
- Provide training and assistance to less experienced staff as needed.
- Create and maintain documentation for assigned projects and participate in team
meetings, conferences and problem solving discussions
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform other assigned or needed activities required to assure success of the EDI
development role and to support other work of the IT Department.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience | Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business or a related field preferred. Minimum of 5-8 plus years of experience in Information Systems building and working with EDI transactions. Minimum two years of experience in health care & EDI. Experience with large, highly complex projects desired. |
Special Skills, Licenses andCertifications | Experience with development of EDI transactions. Knowledge of EDI translators is required. At least 5 years of experience with EDI Development using Edifecs’s Smart Trading including Spec Builder, Enterprise Application Manager, XEngine and Transaction Manager Version 9 & above and Oracle Enterprise Edition Release 12 & above, MS SQL Server Version 2017 & above. Experience in relational database DDL, DML, Transact SQL, PL/SQL / stored procedure is required. Experience in building web services using technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, and REST. Experience with Microsoft technologies such as MS .NET/SSIS/SSRS/WCF and Web Services is required. Knowledge of health care coding systems. Writing and verbal ability important. |
Performance Based Competencies | Ability to quickly acquire in-depth knowledge of AMYSIS software and managed care issues. Strong written and oral communication skills with ability to interpret and understand technical requirements. Excellent analytical skills to troubleshoot and resolve systems problems. |
Work Environment And Physical Demands | More than 50% of work time is spent at a video display terminal. May be required to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, or work in other non-standing and non-sitting positions to install cabling, systems hardware and other related equipment. |
