Project Overview
This role supports electric utility infrastructure projects within an environmental and utility services division. Work includes oversight across transmission, substations, and distribution systems, ensuring compliance, safety, and execution standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee a team of up to 5 electrical inspectors across multiple projects
Manage projects in various phases, including design, active construction, and closeout
Monitor contractor performance, manpower, and material deliveries
Maintain detailed daily reporting of construction activities, including out-of-scope work and cost impacts
Track and document all material transactions including issuance, transfers, and returns
Coordinate between contractors, subcontractors, internal stakeholders, and local agencies
Witness, approve, and document testing procedures such as transformer and concrete testing
Interpret engineering drawings, plans, specifications, and technical documentation
Enforce OSHA standards and ensure adherence to environmental, health, and safety (EHS) requirements
Ensure full compliance with project-specific safety plans, including E-HASP protocols
Required Qualifications
Minimum 5+ years of experience in electric utility construction inspection
Direct experience with:
Transmission (overhead and underground)
Substations
Distribution systems (overhead and underground)
Strong knowledge of construction practices, safety compliance, and regulatory standards
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and reporting tools
