Senior Electrical Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Electrical Engineer to join our multi-disciplined design team. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who values collaboration, quality design, and exceptional service. As a key member of our in-house engineering team, you will lead the design and coordination of electrical systems across a wide range of project types—from early planning and analysis through construction administration.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the design of electrical building systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for commercial, municipal, educational, and institutional projects.
• Collaborate closely with in-house architects, civil, structural, mechanical engineers, and designers to develop fully coordinated construction documents.
• Prepare design calculations, load analyses, single-line diagrams, panel schedules, and construction details using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Apply sound engineering judgment while adhering to applicable codes (NEC, IBC, IECC, ASHRAE, etc.) and client-specific standards.
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff, supporting professional development and ensuring quality deliverables.
• Engage in construction administration tasks including submittal reviews, site visits, RFIs, and punch list reviews.
• Participate in internal design reviews, quality control efforts, and interdepartmental coordination meetings.
• Maintain client relationships and contribute to a service-first culture with a hands-on, problem-solving approach.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 10 years of electrical design experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary A&E firm environment.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or obtainable within 6 months.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit; experience with SKM PowerTools or similar electrical modeling software is a plus.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable codes and design standards.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and collaborate across disciplines.
