Senior Electrical Engineer (Analog/Digital)

Location: Suffolk County, NY (On-site)

Compensation: $120K-$180K

Work Authorization: Must qualify as a U.S. Person (export-controlled environment)

A well-established, industry-leading manufacturer supporting mission-critical aerospace, defense, and space programs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Analog/Digital) to join its engineering team. This role will play a key part in the design, development, and lifecycle support of advanced power distribution, generation, and motor control products.

What You'll Do

  • Lead electrical engineering efforts across the full product lifecycle (requirements; design, validation, production support)

  • Design and develop analog and digital circuits, including power electronics and control systems

  • Perform detailed analyses (thermal, stress, worst-case, FMEA, EMI, tolerance, aging) to ensure performance in harsh environments

  • Drive technical direction, coordinate cross-functional engineering teams, and support design reviews and customer proposals

  • Support new and legacy products through troubleshooting, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to hiring and team development

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of experience in analog/digital circuit design (A/D, microcontrollers, I/O, communications)

  • Strong background in power electronics (MOSFET, IGBT, SiC, GaN) and high-reliability design environments

  • Experience with MIL-STD (1275/704, 461) and/or DO-160 standards, power systems, and DC/DC converters

  • Hands-on experience with PCB layout for high-power applications and EMI compliance

  • Familiarity with communication protocols such as CAN, RS232/422/485, SPI, JTAG, PCI/PCIe, Ethernet

  • Experience with CAD/simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, OrCAD, Allegro, MATLAB/Simulink)

Nice to Have

  • Background in radiation effects for space applications (SEU, total dose, etc.)

  • Experience with motor control systems and advanced control theory

  • Knowledge of sensors (LVDT, resolvers, encoders)

Education

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering required; advanced degree preferred

In accordance with New York salary transparency requirements, the anticipated annual base salary range for positions is: $120k-$180k annually. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated project leadership background.
