Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Description

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, simulation, layout, and testing of printed circuit boards (PCBs). Your role is crucial in ensuring that these boards meet electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Lead PCB electrical design activities, including schematic development, component selection, and layout guidance for complex, multi-layer circuit boards.
  • Design high-speed digital circuits, including processors, memory systems, and high-bandwidth communication interfaces.
  • Perform detailed PCB layout considerations such as controlled-impedance routing, differential pair tuning, stack-up planning, and power-distribution design.
  • Conduct signal integrity and power integrity analysis to validate design performance and ensure reliable high-speed operation.
  • Develop resilient architectures incorporating features like redundancy, watchdogs, fail-safe circuitry, and robust memory subsystems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (firmware, software, systems, mechanical) to ensure seamless integration of board-level electronics into larger systems.
  • Perform design verification and validation, including board testing, functional testing, environmental testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including schematics, BOMs, test procedures, analysis reports, and design reviews.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners, providing DFM/DFT input and resolving issues in fabrication, assembly, or testing.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (IPC, IEEE, MIL-STD, etc.) and internal quality processes.
  • Lead technical design reviews and mentor junior engineers in best practices for PCB design and high-reliability electronics engineering.

Essential Skills

  • 7 years of experience in high-performance PCB design.
  • Proficient experience with Altium Designer.
  • Experience leading technical design reviews and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Experience with high-reliability, aerospace, and/or IPC Class 3 designs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronics Engineering Technology, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with advanced PCB manufacturing techniques such as blind vias and microvias.
  • Experience in aerospace, space, satellite, defense, or other high-reliability sectors.

Work Environment

You will work in a dynamic environment that involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including firmware, software, systems, and mechanical engineers. The role requires adherence to industry standards and internal quality processes, ensuring high-reliability electronics engineering. The use of advanced PCB design tools and techniques is integral to the work environment.
