Role Summary
A multidisciplinary design and engineering firm is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and manage electrical engineering projects across residential and commercial sectors. This role involves overseeing all phases of design and execution, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities
Manage electrical engineering projects of varying size and complexity
Develop concept designs, load calculations, schematics, and system reports
Design electrical systems: distribution, UPS, lighting, life safety, fire alarm, and more
Write and review construction specifications and concept reports
Ensure technical accuracy and quality across all deliverables
Lead project teams and allocate resources effectively
Conduct site visits during construction phases as needed
Maintain project schedules, budgets, and client satisfaction
Review shop drawings and identify scope changes or additional service needs
Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering or related field (preferred)
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.)
Project Management certification or diploma (asset)
LEED accreditation (asset)
5+ years of industry experience, preferably in consulting engineering
Strong knowledge of contractors, suppliers, and manufacturers
Experience in mechanical/electrical coordination and construction
Proven success in project delivery and team leadership
