Job Description:

Dewberry is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer in Nashville, TN. Responsible for providing technical guidance and training/mentoring of our design resources in all areas of work we doincluding all types of healthcare projects associated with electrical engineering. Assist the Project/Client Managers by providing technical guidance to help meet the client’s desires and budget. Work with a team of engineers on a variety of private, public, and federal projects. In addition to working with electrical engineers, this individual will team with architectural, mechanical, structural, and other disciplines to provide full-range services to our local and regional clients. In short, provide technical guidance associated with electrical requirements to accomplish our commitments. Will report to the Electrical Discipline Manager.

Responsibilities:
  • Would be expected to provide the following to others on the design team to effectively and successfully complete projects:
  • Technical guidance and quality oversight, including code review, of all project work involving electrical engineering.
  • Technical training and development of staff.
  • Establishing and improving standards, practices, guidelines, and specifications for electrical discipline area.
  • Engineer of Record.
  • Provide 'on-the-spot' advice and decisions - technical and cost estimates.
  • Coordination with all of the disciplines involved, including outside consultants.
  • Technical interface with code officials and contractors.
Required Skills & Required Experience:
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity (example through Comity) within the State in which the position is posted within six (6) months. 
  • Accomplished electrical engineer with 7+ years of progressive technical experience in the design of power distribution, multiple generator powerhouses, multi-building medium voltage campus distribution, fault studies, selective overcurrent coordination studies, load flow studies, arc flash studies, lighting, life safety, and telecommunications systems on healthcare and commercial projects.
  • Experience should include management of multiple projects with proven success providing technical oversight on projects that meet contract specifications and technical standards to the client on time and within budget.
  • Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Well organized, takes good notes.
