Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead and oversee electrical engineering projects within our organization. This pivotal role involves managing a team of engineers and designers, ensuring project delivery aligns with schedule, budget, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will apply sound engineering practices, perform detailed calculations, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and industry standards. Responsibilities
Lead project execution by coordinating with project management and discipline teams to ensure adherence to company standards and procedures.
Prepare, review, and approve electrical deliverables such as one-line diagrams, load lists, system calculations, schematics, equipment specifications, data sheets, requisitions, and technical bid analyses, with PE seal where applicable.
Collaborate with the design team to develop lighting, grounding, and power plans, along with cable schedules, panel schedules, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Develop hazardous area classification drawings in partnership with the process safety group.
Work with procurement to generate requisitions, technical bid tabs, and purchase order packages for electrical equipment, and coordinate with expediting teams post-order placement.
Develop material and man-hour estimates, and contribute to project scheduling and progress tracking.
Interface with other disciplines to ensure a coordinated and integrated design approach.
Apply industry standards and best practices throughout project execution.
Ensure compliance with all company and client safety, health, and environmental policies.
Perform additional duties as assigned, maintaining a focus on professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and innovation.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with proven leadership capabilities.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required; candidates working towards licensure will be considered.
Proficiency in ETAP/SKM for calculations and report generation.
Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and other relevant codes.
Experience specifying high, medium, and low voltage electrical equipment.
Ability to read and interpret P&IDs effectively.
Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with engineers and designers, setting clear expectations.
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and project management skills, including scope, schedule, and budget management.
Familiarity with electrical construction, installation practices, and commissioning processes.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in PDF editing software (Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
Willingness to travel to job sites as required and move within the office to access resources.
