Your key contributions will include spearheading the design and development of innovative electrical/electronic solutions, crafting schematics, prototyping, and refining designs. You'll effectively organize and manage project schedules, budgets, and quality objectives with autonomy. Additionally, you will design, build, and test prototypes to ensure performance and reliability, drafting detailed product specifications and test plans.
You’ll conduct feasibility analyses, perform competitive testing, and ensure design compliance, troubleshooting advanced electrical/electronic problems throughout the development and after release. Your role will also involve creating Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintaining thorough engineering documents, as well as coordinating with manufacturing, operations, and external partners for tooling, assembly, and production strategy.
To thrive in this role, you should have:
- A BSEE, BSET, or similar degree.
- Over five years of experience in electrical design engineering, ideally with consumer products.
- Proficiency in reading schematics and using design software (simulation, analysis, CAD).
- Concrete experience in bringing designs from initial idea to a manufacturable state.
- Insight into financial modeling and new product development (NPD) processes.
- Inventive problem-solving abilities paired with analytical prowess and effective communication skills.
