Senior Electrical Engineer (EE3) – Low Voltage Power Distribution and Integrated Electrical Systems

Position Summary:

The Senior Electrical Engineer (EE3) – Low Voltage Power Distribution and Integrated Electrical Systems is responsible for leading the design, development, standardization, testing, and implementation of complex electrical systems. This role serves as a senior technical authority, ensuring all electrical equipment meets project requirements, applicable codes, and internal quality standards.

This position works closely with engineering, project management, manufacturing, and customers to drive execution, resolve complex technical challenges, and continuously improve product performance and engineering processes. The Senior Electrical Engineer is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy while mentoring junior engineers and strengthening overall engineering capabilities.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Lead the design and development of electrical drawings for low voltage power distribution and integrated electrical systems, including switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, MCCs, and control assemblies.
  • Develop, review, and approve bills of materials (BOMs) for accuracy, completeness, and cost optimization.
  • Interpret complex customer job specifications and ensure full technical compliance in all designs.
  • Review, approve, and manage all customer-driven design changes, ensuring alignment with project scope, schedule, and engineering integrity.
  • Serve as the primary technical resource for project managers, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
  • Lead the development, standardization, and execution of testing procedures (including FAT) to ensure system performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Ensure all electrical designs and equipment comply with applicable codes, standards, and regulations (NEMA, IEEE, NEC, ANSI, IEC, UL).
  • Drive engineering standardization initiatives, including design templates, best practices, and continuous improvement of product offerings.
  • Provide technical leadership in R&D efforts, supporting development of new products and enhancements to existing systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, efficiency, and quality.
  • Interface with customers, project managers, and sales to resolve technical issues with urgency and professionalism.
  • Lead advanced troubleshooting efforts, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions for design and field-related issues.
  • Mentor, train, and develop Electrical Engineers, Designers, and Technicians to elevate team performance and technical capability.
  • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, ensuring engineering deliverables meet schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
  • Establish, maintain, and enforce engineering processes, documentation standards, and best practices aligned with company and ISO requirements.
  • Participate in all company safety and quality meetings, ensuring adherence to established procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Continuously update job knowledge through professional development, training, and industry engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or engineering technology required.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on low voltage power distribution and integrated electrical systems.
  • Proven experience designing and supporting low voltage systems (1000V), including switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, MCCs, and control systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including NEMA, IEEE, NEC, ANSI, IEC, and UL.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring engineers and leading complex technical projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in electrical system design, analysis, testing, and implementation.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interface with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • High level of accountability, attention to detail, and commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
