This role partners with clients, project managers, field teams, and other design disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions, manage project risks, and support successful project execution. The position also provides technical mentorship, conducts peer reviews, and helps drive standards, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams.What you'll do:Lead electrical design projects from concept through startup and commissioningIdentify project risks early and develop practical solutionsBuild and maintain client relationships through strong communication and follow-throughCoordinate with other design disciplines, field teams, vendors, utilities, and governing agenciesSupport estimates and project planning with project managers and estimatorsTroubleshoot technical issues with field personnel to keep projects movingReview drawings, approve deliverables, and support quality standardsMentor team members through delegation, feedback, and technical guidanceLead meetings, site trips, and project coordination effortsHelp improve standards and strengthen accountability across teamsWhat we're looking forProject Engineer IB.S. degree from an ABET-accredited engineering programEligible to complete the FE exam or already EIT certified4-8 years of relevant experiencePE license required or eligibility to become licensedStrong understanding of electrical terminology, components, symbols, and NECDrafting software proficiency preferredProject Engineer IIB.S. degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program7+ years of relevant experiencePE license required or eligibility to become licensedStrong understanding of electrical terminology, components, symbols, and NECDrafting software proficiency preferredDemonstrated experience leading complex projects and multi-disciplinary teamsExperience in panel shop, prefabrication, or field workStrong client-facing communication and presentation skillsAbility to mentor others and raise technical capability across a teamProven ability to manage multiple complex projects at onceComfort working across disciplines and solving problems quicklyTravel RequirementsTravel will be required and will vary according to business requirements. Travel should not exceed 30% of your time.CompensationThe pay range for this position is $79,000 to $116,000+ benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
