Electrical Engineer - Substations
Minimum 5 Years experience as an Electrical Engineer
Venteon is currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer - Substation to fill an opening with a construction company for a remote position. The ideal candidates should have a strong understanding high and medium voltage electrical. A background with power and lighting distribution and a knowledge of substation electrical is desired.
Requirements of the Electrical Engineer
Bachelor s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (required).
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or willingness to obtain.
3 7 years of experience in electrical engineering in substation, power delivery, utility or renewable energy projects
Hands-on experience supporting physical design, protection and controls, or both in substation projects
Strong understanding of high voltage systems
Experience working with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar tools for electrical design.
Knowledge of energy management systems and sustainability best practices is a plus.
Strong understanding of electrical codes and safety practices.
Familiarity with standards such as NEC, NESC, IEEE, ANSI and NFPA

Responsibilities of the Electrical Engineer
Support the design and engineering of high-voltage substations for utility, renewable, and power delivery projects
Contribute to both physical substation design and Protection & Controls (P&C) engineering packages
Lead or support engineering tasks from project kickoff through IFC/design package completion
Coordinate closely with civil, structural, SCADA, relay, and project management teams to deliver integrated solutions
Prepare technical deliverables including one-lines, three-lines, schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, grounding plans, conduit/raceway layouts, cable schedules, bills of material, specifications, reports, and client-facing documents
Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and startup phases
Occasionally travel for field walkdowns, client meetings, factory acceptance testing, or construction support
