Icon Electric is a leading electrical contractor serving the Greater Phoenix market with a strong reputation for quality, safety, and execution across commercial and industrial projects. Our estimating team plays a critical role in securing profitable work and setting projects up for success from day one.
Icon Electric is seeking a Senior Electrical Estimator to prepare accurate, competitive estimates for commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role that partners closely with operations, vendors, and leadership throughout the preconstruction process.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical estimating skills, sound judgment around risk and scope, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Prepare detailed electrical estimates, including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
Perform complete takeoffs from drawings and specifications
Analyze bid documents to identify scope gaps, risk items, assumptions, and exclusions
Develop conceptual and preliminary budgets for projects in early design
Lead value engineering and cost-optimization discussions
Solicit, review, and level vendor and subcontractor quotes
Attend site walks and pre-bid meetings as required
Prepare clear scope letters and bid documentation
Collaborate with operations during preconstruction handoff
Support change order pricing and post-bid reviews
Maintain strong working relationships with vendors, clients, and internal teams
5+ years of electrical estimating experience in commercial and/or industrial construction
Strong understanding of electrical systems, labor factors, and construction means & methods
Experience estimating multi-million-dollar projects
Proficiency with Accubid, Bluebeam, Excel, and standard estimating tools
Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and one-line diagrams
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Clear communication skills and professional judgment
Preferred Qualifications
Field background (Journeyman, Foreman, or Superintendent experience)
Experience with design-build or negotiated work
Prior experience reviewing or mentoring junior estimators
