Responsibilities:

  • Analyze project requirements, customer proposals, and bid documents to develop accurate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates for large-scale electrical projects.

  • Lead and manage the estimating process, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with customer expectations and business goals.

  • Coordinate with various project management teams to gather input and validate estimates for complex, multi-phase projects.

  • Prepare comprehensive and well-organized estimate proposals, including stipulated price, design-build, and construction/project management approaches.

  • Present project proposals to potential clients, addressing options, costs, and feasibility to align with their expectations.

  • Provide detailed project documentation to project management teams for seamless execution and cost control.

  • Oversee the development of project budgets from conceptual and schematic design through final estimation, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

  • Mentor and guide estimating team members, fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring best practices are upheld.

  • Monitor ongoing projects, cost changes, unit pricing, and job tracking to ensure budget adherence and profitability.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, internal teams, and customers to support current and future projects.

  • Continuously refine and enhance estimating processes and methodologies for improved efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience in electrical construction).

  • 10+ years of experience in electrical estimating and project management within an industrial electrical contracting environment.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and develop detailed project cost estimates.

  • Proficiency in technical documentation, contract review, and proposal development.

  • Solid understanding of construction methodologies, industry regulations, and union agreements.

  • Expertise in estimating and project management software; experience with Bluebeam, HCSS Heavy Job, Primavera, and MS Project is preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong leadership, mentorship, and problem-solving capabilities with a detail-oriented and results-driven mindset.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
